Caring for Your Wheels & Tires

Proper care keeps your wheels and tires looking great and performing at their best. Here’s how to clean, protect, and maintain your investment for the long haul.

Cleaning & Protection

  • Wash wheels and tires regularly with mild soap and water—avoid harsh chemicals that can damage finishes.
  • Use a soft brush for stubborn brake dust, and rinse thoroughly.
  • Apply a non-acidic wheel cleaner for tough grime (always test on a small spot first).
  • Dry wheels with a microfiber towel to prevent water spots.
  • Apply a dedicated wheel protectant or ceramic coating for extra shine and easier cleaning.

Tire Maintenance

  • Check tire pressure monthly and before long trips—use your truck’s recommended PSI.
  • Rotate tires every 5,000–7,500 miles for even wear.
  • Inspect tread depth and look for uneven wear, cuts, or bulges.
  • Keep an eye on your TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) warning light—don’t ignore it!

Seasonal & Long-Term Care

  • Clean wheels thoroughly before winter to remove road salt and prevent corrosion.
  • If storing wheels/tires, keep them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and ozone sources.
  • Use wheel/tire covers for long-term storage.

Quick Tips

  • Never use steel wool or abrasive pads on wheels—they’ll scratch the finish.
  • Check lug nut torque after any wheel service.
  • Address any vibration, pulling, or TPMS warnings promptly to avoid bigger issues.
